Got Squirrels?

Love them. Hate them. Love to hate them, but i
f you can't beat 'em...here are a few strategies to at least level the field a bit:

1. A squirrel can eat its weight in seed in one week! A squirrel-resistant feeder makes it nearly
impossible for pesky squirrels to get their paws on your birdseed.
2. Squirrels can launch themselves 6 vertical and 8 horizontal feet. Place feeders where
squirrels can't get to it--at least 8 feet away from any squirrel landing spot, and at least 5 to 6
feet off the ground. Or, use a baffle.
3. Use safflower seed in the feeder. It has a bitter taste that squirrels don't like.
4. Try a little bribery--establish a squirrel feeding station away from your bird feeders.
