A Community on the Move The Leeds School of Business honored G. Chris Andersen with a Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Service Award at its Alumni Award Ceremony on October 22, 2010. This award denotes Andersen's longtime support and philanthropy to the Leeds School as well as his entrepreneurial attitude and achievements in the business community. At October's Esprit Entrepreneurship Awards, Deming board members Mark Retzloff received the Lifetime Achievement Award; Dan Caruso received an Entrepreneurs of Distinction award. In its new awards category, Big Ideas, Esprit highlighted BiOptix, which was founded by Deming board member Misha Plam.
Congratulations to Boulder's Tendril Networks on acquiring GroundedPower. Tendril is participating in 20 smart-grid pilot programs in 14 states this year.

Now in its 3rd year, CU New Venture Challenge "flattens the campus" by providing a forum through which entrepreneurs from business, engineering, law, ATLAS, liberal arts, music and elsewhere can meet and work together. REthink, REnew, RETool: The fall RETool series is wrapping up on December 3, but will kickoff its spring session on January 28. RETool: Opportunities in the New Energy Economy is an intensive, four-day certificate program offered by the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at CU-Boulder that provides an in-depth look at renewable energy technologies and policies.
