It's Time
To Get Off The Hamster Wheel!

Just being in motion will never get you to your Big. To do that, you need to be sure you're doing the right things, in the right order, for the right reasons.

Enter the Take Action Now System (tm).

This seven-step system clarifies the activities that are mission-critical to your success. It then walks you through a process for creating step-by-step action plans to implement those key activities.

The result? You get off the hamster wheel of motion-without-progress and get on a more direct route to more clients and more money.

Forget about being busy; start getting focused by downloading your no-charge PDF version of the Take Action Now System (tm) today.

Greetings!

One of the biggest challenges for me as an entrepreneur is finding that (sometimes) fine line between following counsel from people more experienced than I am and going with what my gut tells me is the right course of action.

I've had experiences where I followed a trusted advisor's advice despite discomfort - and reaped the rewards.  On the other hand, I've also said "No, not now" to other recommendations - and found that that was what produced the best results for me at the time.

When you're faced with a decision about whose guidance to follow, turn to these tools to make that decision easier.

Tip of the Week

Be prepared to occasionally ignore well-meaning advice.

Sometimes even when people share ideas/opinions/advice from a true spirit of helpfulness and giving, that input is not in your ultimate best interests.  When faced with the decision to act on or ignore said input, consider three things:
  • Does the person sharing the idea stand to be personally impacted by your decision?  In other words, do they have their own agenda for suggesting what they did?
  • Does it feel in your gut like this is an idea you can authentically run with?
  • If you're hesitant to act on the idea, is it because it's truly not a good fit, or because implementing it would push you outside your comfort zone?
A Really Good Resource

Most of us, over the course of a lifetime, will come up with multiple answers to the question, "What do I want to be when I grow up?".  If you're in the midst of figuring that out and are getting nowhere fast, you might check out I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It, by Barbara Sher.

This wonderful book shows you how to reconnect with long-lost goals that are rooted in what really makes your heart sing.  If you feel like you're floundering in your current position, this resource may very well provide some much-needed clarity and confidence.

The fabulous thing about creating success that's meaningful for you is that you can do it in any sort of setting. Just ask Nate Bostrom.

Nate is a classic intrapreneur; he has strong entrepreneurial skills which he likes applying as en employee within an organization.  Over the last 18 years, he's been able to apply those skills in a variety of positions at Concordia University, St. Paul. While he's enjoyed aspects of all his positions, he's now solidly in the  middle of his "sweet spot" as a Senior Community College Liaison.

Nate is applying his entrepreneurial vision to making Concordia a leader in both on-campus and online degree-completion programs for graduates of community colleges.  His position combines the benefits of "having a job" with those that come with "running a business." Sweet!

So...Maybe you're comfortable saying "yes" to some suggestions and "no" to others.  In that case, you rate a big Woohoo! But are you equally comfortable figuring out how to actually implement the ideas you finally settle on?

If not, maybe I can help.  My specialty is providing a flexibly structured process that enables you to identify and act on important business-building tasks, and to do so with clarity and confidence.  If that sounds like something that could keep your head from exploding, call or e-mail me to set up a let's-see-what-we-see, get-acquainted call.

Wishing you joy on your journey into Big...
