    For team Day Money, day two of the Cape Eleuthera Championship showed that the 80 foot Merritt was appropriately named. Country music legend George Strait released two blue marlin and one white marlin on day two and Day Moneycoasted to a win at the second leg of the 2010 Bahamas Billfish Championship (BBC) with 1,400 points.

Bill Gardner of Hartford, Wisconsin finished second based on time with a blue marlin release on day one aboard his 68 Hatteras, Our Dream. Gary Angel's Sea Angelfrom Baytown, Texas finished third with a blue marlin release on the last day of the three-day event hosted by the Cape Eleuthera Resort & Yacht Club.

For the win, George Strait and Day Moneywas awarded a Randy Rich designed trophy presented by the BBC and, as Top Release Team at the Cape Eleuthera Championship, Day Moneyreceived a Randy Buck original bronze trophy sponsored by Murray Products, High Seas Technology and PipeWelders. In addition, Top Crew trophies, sponsored by the Lewis Marine Group, were presented to Capt. Chris Lindell and Mate Kevin Bertram of the Day Money. In addition to the Randy Rich trophies, the top three finishers all received gift certificates from Roffer's Ocean Fishing Forecast and BoatMat Corp.

Bill Gardner and team Our Dreamwas the recipient of the Smith Merritt Insurance and International Special Risks 'Customer Appreciation Award' presented to their insured scoring the highest points in the tournament. Smith Merritt and ISR award a Carey Chen print for each of the five tournaments.

Next Stop - Harbour Island
     
    With three marinas from which to choose your dockage for the Harbour Island Championship there are no longer worries about having to 'anchor-out' for this popular tournament. The newly opened Romora Bay Resort & Marina added another 48 slips to those at Harbour Island Club & Marina and Valentines Resort & Marina.
    EPICE Sunscreen is Hosting the third leg of the 2010 BBC and Dr. Michael Spicer will be on-hand for the entire tournament to discuss the importance of proper skin protection while fishing.
     Registration, committee boat communications and image BBC 2010review will be housed at Romora Bay. The Anglers Meeting and opening dinner for the Harbour Island Championship will take place May 19th at the Coral Sands Resort overlooking Harbour Island's beautiful, pink sand beach. We will move slightly north to the Pink Sands Resort for the Awards Presentation and closing dinner.
    Romora Bay Resort and the Harbour Island Junkanoo Committee have graciously stepped forward to prepare and sell the best of the best in 'Coconut and Conch' items ... conch salad, conch fritters, coconut rice, coconut Johnny cake, Gin and Coconut Milk drinks and much more! Live entertainment all evening.

The Coconut & Conch Out
 
     The Coconut & Conch Out is a local Harbour Island festivity aimed at promoting the annual Junkanoo of Harbour Island. There will be 'everything Conch and everything Coconut' for sale on the evening of Thursday May 20th at Romora Bay's Sunsets Bar & Grille.
     The Junkanoo Committee, in appreciation of the BBC being back on Harbour Island, has graciously stepped forward to prepare and sell the best of the best in 'Coconut and Conch' items ... conch salad, conch fritters, coconut rice, coconut Johnny cake, Gin and Coconut Milk drinks and much more!!  
     The Harbour Island Junkanoo will do a 'RUSH' on the Romora Bay property at Sunsets, showing the guests their wonderful costumes, dancing and musical talents. Entertainment of the evening is The Brilanders, Harbour Island's most famous and exciting band.
      Festivities begin at 6pm at Sunsets at Romora Bay and go until the 'party in da back yard' is over ... Harbour Island style!  Come one, come all ... excellent food, great service, wonderful entertainment and wild and wooly Bahamian libations!
Looking Ahead - Boat Harbour     
    
    The BBC heads back to Abaco and Abaco Beach Resort & Boat Harbour Marina for leg four of BBC 2010 June 9 - 12. The Boat Harbour Championship is hosted by Allied Marine and Bertram Yacht.    
     As is the BBC custom at Boat Harbour, registration will BBC 2010take place from 1 PM to 4 PM at Below Decks and the Anglers Meeting, Awards Dinner, committee boat communications and image review will be in the tournament tent adjacent to the weigh station.
