Crush 'Em Wins Bimini Championship
The Bahamas Billfish Championship kicked-off its 36th season with the Bimini Championship hosted at the new Bimini Bay Resort & Marina. Twenty-eight teams were on-hand for the BBC's first return to Bimini in fourteen years.
Ronald Bennett's team Crush 'Em from New Castle, Delaware was the first of three teams to catch a blue marlin. Based on the time of Crush 'Em's released blue, the team took First Place in this early season tournament that was dominated by sailfish releases.
Second Place went to Trey Brown's Texas based The Edge with another blue marlin release. Robert Harrell's team Reel Estate was the third team to release a blue marlin and the Orlando, Florida team finished in Third Place. Read the complete press release here ...

At press time, reports from early arivals at Treasure Cay say the blue marlin are here along with big dolphin and yellow fin tuna. We're looking forward to an action packed tournament both on the water and ashore.
The ever popular 'Hatteras Hangover Clinic' will be open for business from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Various 'remedies' are available and include coffee, juices and Danish pastries. Of course there will be aspirin, Alka Seltzer, TUMS and the like as well! Looking Ahead - Cape Eleuthera
A New Destinatipon for the BBC
The BBC will be heading south after the Central Abaco Championship to Powell Point at Cape Eleuthera May 19th through the 22nd. Anglers familiar with the area and the resort are excited to be fishing a BBC tournament once again in the south central Bahamas. The resort's website has several charts with GPS coordinates for those unfamiliar with this area of Eleuthera For those fishing the Cape Eleuthera Championship, Twin Air Calypso has two scheduled flights daily out of Ft. Lauderdale. In addition, Bahamasair has two scheduled flights out of Nassau into Rock Sound. Most major air carriers including Gulfstream International Airlines (Continental Connection) service Nassau and that may be a better option if you are not originating your flight at Ft. Lauderdale.
