Skype Transcript, Shanghai, China, January 7, 2010
Question #1: Bhagavan, we all read you and Amma's new year message, about all these let go's. Does it take efforts, or will it happen naturally? If it takes efforts, is it possible that we fall into wrong directions. Bhagavan, will you share with us if there will be any negative energy involved? Thank you.
Bhagavan: The word as we move into oneness is 'effortless effort.' That is, up to a point there is effort, then it has to become effortless. Now the example I offer is, there is a snake in the room, then you are in great fear. Then you get a torch light, getting the torch light is the effort, switching on the light is the deeksha. Then the light comes out, that require no effort. In the light you see that it is a rope and not a snake, instantly the fear is gone. No energy is required, no effort is required, no time is required. That is the effortless part, getting the torch light and putting on the switch is the effort part.
Similarly here, you must first make an effort, like observing how the body is breathing, how the body is walking. And say you are taking a morning bath, how the body is reacting, you are brushing your teeth, what's happening. You must begin with your senses, and then you must become slowly aware of your thoughts. Now up to that point, effort is needed, then if you see that you are not letting go of your hurt, you are not letting go of your suffering, you are not letting go of your pain. If you try to let go of your hurt, let go of your anger, let go of your pain, that is wrong effort, that kind of effort is no use, it will not produce negative energy, but it is no use. In fact it will strengthen the problem.
On the other hand, what you must now see is putting the initial effort, and how effort itself is preventing you from letting go. The effort itself is useless, if you can see that, a very natural letting go will happen, like a dry leaf on a tree, it will naturally fall. Similarly, if you go on seeing how every effort is preventing it from happening, then, without any effort, it will naturally happen. So the word "Letting go" does not mean you are going to let go. In the work of oneness, there is no you at all. The effort to let go is the "you".
Therefore this you must observe, that every effort is destroying what you want to get. That you must see. Once you see that, automatically it happens. It has to be effortless. If by any chance that you are putting in some effort, and you got something, then you must know that something wrong has happened, it has to happen on its own. So, that's the answer for the first question, if it's too long for you or ... Sushma: No, that's perfectly fine. Bhagavan. I will translate...... Sushma: That's Aaron doing the translation. Bhagavan, may I ask the second question?
Question #2: We all experience ups and downs, particularly those unexpected downs like the loss of family members, fall into financial crisis, or breakup a relationship. We want to know why this kind of things happen to us. How should we walk out of that and go ahead positively? How can our wishes be realized every time and faster?
Bhagavan: Up to a point, we could use psychology, and explain what is happening. But oneness has a different idea of what is actually going on. It's not opposed to modern psychology or ancient psychology. Psychology is useful for a purpose, whatever we know about psychology. But oneness believe that every human being is really a computer. And that there is a program to that computer. In this program we have identified three components.
The first component is called primary conditioning, the second is called secondary conditioning, the third is called the tertiary conditioning. The three constitute the whole program. The first part of conditioning, is called the primary program. We believe it starts from past life and ends at the moment of conception. The second program, or what we call the secondary program, starts from the moment of conception and ends at the point the self is born, the self means the sense of separation. The tertiary program starts from the moment the self is born to the current day.
Now, for the example of a child to be, as he is getting delivered, has to move backwards, then get delivered. Such a child would have to delay in his academics, in his job and business or profession. He may not get it in the first attempt, he needs a second attempt. Also things would get delayed for him. Suppose the delay is 5 minutes, it could translates into five months. Suppose the delay is half an hour, it could mean 3 years, 4 years or 5 years. Suppose the delay is an hour or so, then he may have to wait 20 or 30 years, and the man may even die before it happens. Suppose he is going inside and outside 3 times, 4 times or 5 times, accordingly in real life, everything has to happen 3 times, 4 times or 5 times. So that part of your life is being controlled by the last moment of delivery. Now depending on what happened at that moment, depending on how much time it took, the delay actually corresponds to the same amount in real life multiplied many times over.
Now similarly if it happens to Caesarean baby and forceps baby, then also, he will need a lot of push, by friends, by relatives, to push for achievements in academics, job, profession, or whatever he is doing. He would not be able to achieves things on his own.
The other thing is, what was the mother's thought while he or she was in the womb. Suppose the mother is carrying (a baby), but her thoughts are that she might get cancer, that is, the mother may get cancer. You will soon find when the child grows up and become big, the child will get cancer, nothing happens to the mother. So a lot has to trace back to the mother's thoughts.
Certain things come from past lives. Like we had a person who have severe headache and pain in the arm. We traced it backward, and found in very, very ancient time the person was beating up a goat, continuously with the right hand. And the problem was repeating now, no medical doctor could do anything. Once that was seeing, we made the person repent for seven days, the pain completely vanished. Similarly lot of things happen in past life.
What happens in the first few hours. Suppose it's a baby girl, mother picks up the girl, people has been very nice, expecting a baby boy. That girl will behave like a boy. The program is more or less molded by the first six years of your life, that only controls your life. If you are going to have a divorce in your life, you going to have a business failure, you going to have a accident, everything could be traced back to the program.
Now suppose you are having some difficulty with your wife or husband, you can do certain amount of psychology work. You can ask the husband to be more considerate to his wife, more loving to his wife. Maybe he will be that if it's part of his program. Otherwise no amount of psychology, no amount of teaching, nothing is going to work. In which case we have to go right into the program and set you right. Then there is no problem that cannot be solved. If it cannot be solved, at least it can be dissolved, and it will no more affect you.
How we look at this program? All you need to do is to go into a "hypnotic body state", a state in-between waking and sleep, a state which you must go through to go to sleep, an intermediate state. You go into a hypnotic body state, then you move into sleep. Similarly upon waking up, you come out of sleep, then you move into the hypnotic body state, then into the waking state. Now at anytime of the day, by relaxing the body, you should be able to get into it, and then you must take a deeksha. Taking a deeksha, you must ask Amma and Bhagavan: "Please show us the program, and where we are stuck". Then we will examine the whole thing, and stop exactly where you are stuck. And one more request, we will change the program. With a little effort and a little understanding, you should be able to change your program. As the program changes, you will get the effects in real life. Sometimes effect would be in 24 hours, sometime in 48 hours, sometime in a month. As the program changes, your life will change. All these problems will suddenly be handled. Would you translate? I think I (have talked) a little fast. Sushma: It's testing our brain muscles......
Question#3: Bhagavan, would you advise us how to center our efforts in our journey to oneness in the year 2010?
Bhagavan: Yes. In 2010, your focus should be on discovering who you are. Now as I often said, a truth that is not your truth is still untruth. So you have to discover truth about yourself. The fact is one does not know really much about oneself. So you have to go into yourself, like a good archaeologist, digs up earth, and find out what is there. You must dig into yourself, and see who you really are. You have a totally wrong image about yourself, because you are hiding from yourself. So you must make use of the energy of 2010, and discover who you are. Now we will help you with that.
In 2011, your focus must be on accepting who you are. So in the whole of 2010, your focus must be on discovering who you are, in 2011, on accepting who you are, and in 2012, on just seeing who you are. So the energy will shift from 2010, to 2011, to 2012. As the energy shifts, you can move from discovering who you are to accepting who you are, to seeing who you are.
In the future Skype, we will help you to discover more about yourself. So that's the answer to the third question. Sushma: That's a short one. Thank you. .... Thank you so much. Now should we have prayers? Bhagavan: Yes. Whatever you wish. We will help. Sushma: OK, so let's be ready for it. Please close your eyes. Bhagavan: Love you all. Thank you.
