David Thompson, Vice President of Personal Banking
|
David Thompson got involved in banking
just five years ago, after a successful career as a stockbroker that concluded
at the Raymond James Brokerage Firm. There was no clear moment that caused the
changed career path but rather more of a gradual gravitation that lead to
working as a private banker for the Synovus-backed CB&T.
Growing up in Tallapoosa and graduating from LaGrange
College with a degree in Business Administration, David has always lived in
West Georgia. And while it's a place he's known and loved his whole life, he
fondly admits that "West Georgia has grown substantially from my little corner
in the last ten years." He knows the best is yet to come for this area he's
invested himself in.
David came to know about River City Bank through
relationships and was finally swayed to join the team when he experienced how
they run their company. "[At Synovus] I could never speak to anyone with real
authority," he explains, "but here I can pick up the phone and talk with Eddie
easily". The immediacy with those in charge is what David finds the brightest
and best benefit of working at River City Bank.
As Vice President of Private Banking in Carrollton, he is the point person
that handles all banking and financial needs - including brokerage and
financial planning - for high net worth individuals that maintain their assets
with RCB.
David resides in Buchanan with his wife Kiley, and two
children, five year-old Jake and three month-old Lillian.

Clem Trammell, Vice President of Commercial Banking
|
As he grew up in Roberta, Georgia - a "blinking light"
outside of Macon - Clem Trammell had no idea that one day he'd be in banking in
Rome with a man just a hop, skip, and a jump from his hometown. He took the traditional path, earning
his degree in Business Administration/Marketing at Troy
State University in Troy, Alabama and
went to work for Enterprise Car Rental out of school. As he got older and more serious, he gave banking a try and
worked through management training at Wachovia.
It was while he was in the business banking segment in Rome
that he knew he found his niche. "I was pretty green", he reflects, "but the
president took me under his wing and taught me everything he knew. " This
invaluable experience convinced Clem that commercial banking was the place for
him. However, he came to dislike the internally competitive environment that
the large corporate bank fostered.
He only met with Eddie Wilson as a way to reconnect with
home. Eddie hails from Perry, Georgia, just south of Roberta, and Clem was glad
to find someone "from his neck of the woods." While playing golf one day after
an initial introduction, Eddie called on Clem to be a part of the new bank he
was putting together. By the next week, Clem was on board.
As Vice President of Commercial Banking in Rome, Clem feels right at home. "I love commercial lending," he shares, "I like bringing all
my skills into play to help businesses do well and to help the bank do well." When asked the highlight of his
experience at River City, he wasn't hesitant. "The people. I know it sounds
cheesy, but the people working here are just second to none." At River City, he has found a team
structure that is not built on ego but rather encourages cooperation. "We're a
group of people with the same goal - serving the customer and remaining
financially solid."
Clem lives in Rome with Jackie, his wife of twelve
years (and college sweetheart) and two daughters, Camille and Madeline.
