Thank you so much for your prayers for our first public service at the end of September.  We were so pleased with our first service and sensed God spirit among us in several ways.  Several of the people we invited came and said they would be back.  As you know asking people to church can be difficult and I was so pleased to see success in this area, mostly because it shows our people have been active enough in the community to gain the respect of others.  To me this was probably the most encouraging thing over all. 

 

An individual story from the night was lady who came with a friend.  I had asked her how her summer was as I remembered her from our service on the 12th of June.  She indicated it had been a tough summer and even more difficult Sept.  She told me she had come because she had a few things she wanted to straighten out with God, we laughed a little and chatted a little about it until the service started.  I received a short note from her this week saying simply. "I really needed to be at church, and was very encouraged that God is present in my life somewhere. lol."  I'm reminded again of the call on my life as a pastor to help people see Jesus in their normal messy lives.  That we are not always called to just be the person on the stage with the microphone.  Or the one leading the charge into some new thing, but that we are simply a tour guide pointing out God in the mundane, or sometime difficult parts of our lives.  

 

Thanks again for all your continued prayers as we gear up to tell the story of Jesus again this weekend.  Please keep myself and our team in your prayers as we adjust to a new rhythm.  We feel so privileged to be a part of this new ministry and pray it is a tool God uses to reach the broken in Chestermere.
