Thanks to our Canadian Covenant family for your prayers.
- Pray for our church family here in Nelson. We've decided to combine our two services(Formerly we had one on Saturday night and one on Sunday morning) into a single Sunday Morning service. We're passionate about our family and the need to be a healthy, intergenerational body, but such a move isn't without some discomfort.
- We are focusing on discipleship - our fall series has begun with a study of the greatc ommandment that Jesus quoted (Mark 12:30). Unless we understand, what it means and how
to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we will never be able to
fully understand and effectively love our neighbour as ourself.
- Pray for our youth ministry and our youth ministry team. Pray that after a weekend retreat (September 23-25) our youth come back with a renewed passion to seek after Jesus. So many of our youth are from outside our church family so, again, discipleship is a key component to
our outreach.
- Pray for a powerful men's retreat planned for November. We've invited Tom Blackaby to speak on the importance of a cultivated faith.
- Pray that we better understand the young adults of our church and community. There is a deep passion in our hearts to know how to better communicate the good news of Jesus to this generation. Our community is full of that demographic, but our churches are empty. That breaks our hearts.
- Pray for our community, our local churches, and our families.
- Pray for the church staff as we work together to serve our church family and to lead them into fruitful ministry.
- Praise God for new families, for hearts which are softening, and for God's ever present grace.
