Jeff Anderson, Superintendent

  • Praise for a summer of time in the office and restoration of some more regularized and good work rhythms.
  • Praise for continued development of relationships with the Avenue Community Church, a young, multi-ethnic church in the Toronto area that is looking to affiliate with the Covenant.
  • Praise for our Summer Ministry Team (yeah, I know it's been said elsewhere but I am just very thankful for this group)
  • Prayer for the financial base necessary to enact the Leadership Board decision to pursue one new church plant per year during this present season of ministry.
  • Prayer (in advance) for a Church Planting Team and a Global Initiatives Team that will meet this November to sharpen our focus and strategy in these key ministry areas.

Julia Stein, Director of Ministry Support

  • Praise God for warm days in Winnipeg!
  • Praise him for his faithfulness in providing an excellent Summer Ministry Team. I am grateful for the privilege of directing this team.
  • Praise God that I've made it through the first year of a new job in a new place. Praise him for the opportunities to meet many of you and preach in our churches.
  • Praise God for the donors he has provided the ECCC and pray that he continues to provide generously for our churches, ministries, and conference.
  • Pray for me next week as I am speaking at Covenant Bay Bible Camp. Pray that the high school students come to know Jesus better at camp.
  • Pray for our continued relationship with Palestinian Christians as I hope to partner with Bethlehem Bible College as a volunteer at their Christ at the Checkpoint conference in March.
  • Pray for a successful relaunch of The Messenger this month. (Contributions are due next week. See below for more information.)

Gerald Froese, Church Vitality

  • Judi and I are excited to have found a place to call home in Edmonton for September.
  • Our ECC Vitality Team, that I am a part of  is working on providing an effective resource manual for churches in transitions. Pray that we will create a manual that will help churches invite a new Senior Pastor to a healthy, functional, spiritually renewed faith community! We write August 29-31 in Kansas.
  • Pray for wisdom to help churches in the Vitality pathway -that each church may continue to take concrete steps toward growing healthy and missional.
