Week's Random Thought:PartI

...Old habits. They sure can be nasty ones to get rid of. Sometimes I wonder if simply digging a hole with a shovel and my bear hands, and having a symbolic  burial would be enough to get rid of them. But  bad habits are like weeds-- if you do not get down and dirty, clip their roots and stay on top of them, those pesky behaviors, will sprout right back.

In Proverbs 4:23, we are told:

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

But when one looks more closely at that passage, you realize that is about not losing HOPE. And that ultimately in all the decisions we make, in the constant struggles, where the duality of forces challenge us, we are to preserve and nurture our heart. If we do not, it could cause our downfall. With the beautiful reflection of what we are all worth, we must bury the crap the weighs us down and be vigilant in our pursuit of the significant. If not, we will not achieve our true potential and that would be the real failure.

This week, I am happy to say, I am walking away from my own bad habits. I have noticed these habits can be like a weird ghost-like presence in my own life, always there. But no more! It is funny how a few hours of stellar live music and good friends can help me shake loose of what has been bothering me lately. And yes, I know you are capable of the same thing, so this week, in the spirit of telepathic rebirth I ask you to devour your own bad habits as I am doing and  ask you to use the amazing healing power of music and good peeps  to help you do the same.
