This is a good way to learn a language, BUT... you must be prepared to invest the time outside of class so that you get the most out of each week. It is a commitment!" "This is one of the important advantages of living in Fairfax County!" "I love these classes!! I am planning to take a photography course next. This old dog can still learn a few new tricks :)" "Saturday mornings are perfect for learning Italian."

Spoken Language Interpreter Certificate
Prepare to become a qualified interpreter
ACE's Spoken Language Interpretation Certificate Program prepares individuals to become qualified interpreters in community and government settings.
This rigorous program requires that students be fluent in English and another language, have oral and written skills at the college level, and have a minimum of two years of college education. A language skills test is required.
Weekly classes begin January 25.
Note: the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) provides comprehensive information of the nature of work, training and qualifications, wages, job outlook, and more. BLS states that interpreters and translators can expect much faster than average employment growth.

Vanna Moore's Italian Students
Just keep coming back...
 | | Vanna Moore, Italian language instructor |
"I joined Vanna Moore's class in the fall of 2009 to brush up on my Italian in preparation for a trip we were planning to take to Italy. Well, we took the trip in the summer of 2010, but that wasn't the end of my Italian studies. Vanna is such an outstanding teacher, and the class is just so darned fun, that my classmates and I keep coming back for more!" Jeanine Sandova
"I have been in Vanna Moore's 502 Italian class for a year. I signed up to boost my woeful Italian in order to help me translate the love letters from my Italian grandfather to my American grandmother in World War I. I'm learning, practicing, and using specific grammar points now. When we don't understand something from the exercises in the book, Vanna's explanations are clear and she gives good examples to clarify further." Wendy Kilpatrick
"I lead a group of students from George Mason to Italy every July. The Italian language class that I have taken with Vanna for the last four years through ACE has given me the confidence I need to speak to Italians and help me conduct my group of 15-25 students more effectively." Cathy Wright
