Greetings!
The traditions of the holiday season remind us that everything old is new again. Many are now finding new interest in the age-old tradition of apprenticeship. Whether starting a new career or seeking to advance in a current one, we have classes to assist you. Apprenticeship classes can help qualify trainees to sit for licensing exams.
State licensing should be the goal for trades such as electricians, HVAC-R technicians, and plumbers. Ask about quicker completion options if you have three or more years of experience in your trade.
This edition of ACE On Point features several articles about apprenticeships as viable and much-needed career paths.
Wishing you the very best for the upcoming New Year!

Virginia Licensing and Classroom Training
Journeyman exam eligibility
State licensing should be the goal for trades such as electricians, HVAC-R technicians, and plumbers. Each of these trades require a minimum of 240 hours of classroom instruction in addition to four years of field experience as a helper to be eligible to sit for journeyman license. Classroom hours must be formal instruction from a state recognized entity, such as ACE. Our apprenticeship classes are specifically designed to advance a worker from helper to skilled professional.
If you already have five or more years of experience in the trade, you can bypass the traditional four-year apprenticeship and focus directly on qualifying for your journeyman license exam. Virginia allows classroom credit for experienced workers at a rate of 80 hours per year of experience over four years.
