John LeBlanc
Instructor profile
Don't be fooled by John LeBlanc's French surname; he was born in Germany, but developed his unmistakable accent growing up in the southern U.S. His familial ties to Germany have sustained his interest in the country's history and culture, and in particular its film industry. On one particularly memorable trip to Germany, Mr. LeBlanc obtained the autograph of Leni Riefenstahl, the controversial director of the propaganda masterpieces, "Triumph of the Will," and "Olympia."
He has taught German for many years. Believing that cinema reflects a nation's identify, he always makes relevant German historical and cultural films a principal part of the cultural component of his courses. |
