Worth a squeeze

Lemons have over two dozen uses in addition to their terrific nutritional value. For
a health booster, make some lemonade:
 
1 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
6 cups water
 
Stir and serve with a few slices floating prettily.

Introducing ACE in the Workplace
New catalog, new service coming your way 
 
For over 30 years we've offered customized workplace training to help organizations address the challenges of ACE in the Workplace catalogthe ever-changing workplace. Now the program has been expanded to include a variety of daytime, skills-focused classes available at The Plum Center in Springfield.
 
And for the first time, workforce training courses will appear in a new publication, ACE in the Workplace, available in print by mid-August. Call 703.658.1215

Taking a Closer Look at Opticianry
Apprenticeship program ramps up 
 
A pair of glasses resting on an eye chartAs the sole provider of opticianry training in Northern Virginia now, ACE is gearing up to expand this program.
 
You can become a licensed, dispensing optician in three years by apprenticing with a local employer and taking related classroom instruction through ACE. Employment in this occupation is expected to rise 9 percent between 2006-2016. 
 
Students with prior training can earn advanced placement by passing a three-hour opticianry credit-by-exam at the Plum Center for Lifelong Learning.
