A Promising Field for Bilinguals
Critical shortage of interpreters offers opportunity

With a county as diverse as Fairfax, there is a critical shortage of qualified interpreters for government, medical, and educational settings. This need provides an exceptional opportunity for bilinguals. Spoken language

The Spoken Language Interpreter Certificate Program prepares individuals to become qualified consecutive interpreters. These courses focus on foundations and fundamentals, vocabulary and terminology, and ethics. A practicum is also required.

To help you get the skills and training you need quickly, the program has been shortened into four courses. At the completion of this program you are considered a "qualified interpreter" and are a candidate to obtain certification as an interpreter.

Create a new career and provide a much-needed service.

Visit far away countries without leaving the area

If your international travel plans are temporarily on hold, let one of our foreign culture classes whisk you away. Visit Italy or Venezuela, Peru and Argentina.

Perhaps you prefer a culinary experience? ACE instructor Patricia Mee, Peruvian chef and graduate of Le Cordon Bleu School, provides a culinary roadmap of Peru with Todo Dulce Peru and Deliciosa Cocina del Peru. These  are also fabulous prep classes to complement your upcoming travel plans.
