2012 Orange County Arts Awards Will Honor Arts Patrons William and Barbara Roberts

 

Longtime donors to and board members of many of Orange County's major arts organizations, Bill and Barbara Roberts will be honored with the 2012 Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award.  They were nominated by Pacific Symphony, Philharmonic Society of Orange County, South Coast Repertory and Arts Orange County.

 

They will be honored at the 13th Annual Orange County Arts Awards on Tuesday, September 18, in the Samueli Theater, Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

Arts Orange County Welcomes Peggy Morse to its Board of Directors

 

Margaret S. Morse has joined the Board of Directors of Arts Orange County.  She is the Director of Strategic Missile Systems for The Boeing Company and manages a team with operations in Huntington Beach as well as in Utah, Ohio, Texas and at all of the United States Air Force missile wings.  

Morse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from New Mexico State University and  a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. She is the Boeing executive champion for Arts & Culture focus in southern California, and serves as a Board Member of Dramatic Results in Long Beach.   Morse is a past Associate of the Seattle Art Museum, past Associate of the Corporate Council for the Arts in Seattle, and past Treasurer of the Seward Park Art Studio.

Free Pacific Symphony "Plazacast" features Beethoven's Ninth in Simulcast Shown in Segerstrom Center's Arts Plaza June 2nd

Pacific Symphony, in association with Segerstrom Center for the Arts, presents the very first "Pacific Symphony Plazacast," a live free simulcast of the Symphony's Beethoven Ninth performance shown on the Center's Arts Plaza during the Saturday, June 2, concert starting at 9 p.m., with festivities, including a selection of food available for purchase, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The evening is a prismatic celebration of Maestro St.Clair's 60th birthday, the Center's 25th anniversary and John Alexander's 40th anniversary as artistic director of Pacific Chorale. The community is invited to come early, bring chairs and blankets, and picnic on the plaza.

Rochelle McReynolds has returned to Orange County as Capital Campaign Officer for ExplorOcean (formerly known as the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum).  McReynolds was with KOCE-TV from 1991-98 and before that Director of Development at Laguna Art Museum.  She was Co-Chair of Orange County's National Philanthropy Day in 1994.  After leaving Orange County, she served as Chief Advancement Officer for the national Sierra Club and later as Managing Director of the American Prairie Foundation.

 

Karen Gee has left MUZEO in Anaheim, where she served as Director of Marketing, to become Executive Director of the Moonlight Cultural Foundation in Vista.  The north San Diego County organization produces musical theatre in the 2000 seat outdoor Moonlight Amphitheatre.
