Major OC Arts Patron Donald Kennedy Has Died

Donald Kennedy, who played a leading role in the growth and development of the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana, has died at the age of 93.  According to the Los Angeles Times obituary, as board chairman at the Bowers, "he was instrumental in negotiating partnerships with the Smithsonian Institution and the British Museum, greatly expanding the museum's offerings to the public. His support for a major addition - the Dorothy and Donald Kennedy Wing - tripled the Bowers' exhibit space."  Kennedy also served on the board of South Coast Repertory.  Kennedy transformed his family's firm, Orange County Title Company, into one of the world's largest title insurance companies, First American Financial.
