Arts Orange County's 13th Annual Orange County Arts Awards will take place on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Recipients of the Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award will include:
Elizabeth Turk - The Santa Ana artist was honored in 2010 with a MacArthur Foundation "genius" fellowship for her extraordinary, intricate, ribbon-like sculptures in marble.
Douglas C. Rankin - The founding President of the Irvine Barclay Theatre is celebrating his 25th year with the organization, from planning and construction of the venue to making it one of the nation's foremost presenters of contemporary dance.
Gloria Zigner - This community visionary is the Founder and Executive Producer of the CHOC Follies, now in its 15th year, a stage show combining professional and amateur talent that has raised more than $5 million for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).
A special award for Outstanding Contribution to the Built Environment will be awarded to Soka University for its impressive new Performing Arts Center, whose inaugural presentations have included the Pacific Symphony, Philharmonic Society of Orange County and other world class artists in an acoustically and aesthetically outstanding facility for campus and community.

Arts Orange County is seeking nominations from the arts community for Annual Achievement Awards that will be given in the categories of Outstanding Arts Patron, Outstanding Artist (Visual, Performing or Literary), and Oustanding Arts Organization.
