Dear Members of the San Rafael City Schools Community:
The classified support staff of San Rafael City Schools provide the needed support for students to learn and for teachers to teach.
It is the custodians who clean our schools and classrooms, the food service workers making lunches, the administrative assistants and clerical staff who answer the phone, and keep our schools humming, the maintenance and grounds staff who take care of our buildings and grounds, the instructional assistants who support student learning and achievement who join all of the many other positions that our classified staff hold, that are vital members of our district team.
This statewide recognition began as a resolution at CSEA's Annual Conference
in 1984. Two years later, it was adopted as California Senate Bill 1552
and decreed to be an official recognition of classified school
employees.
With appreciation,
Mike Michael Watenpaugh, Ed.D. Superintendent
