Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill would like to thank AMD, GENIVAR, MMM Group, Philips, The Town of Markham, URS Canada, WorleyParsons Canada Services Ltd, HDR/ iTRANS, Sheraton Parkway Hotel, The Town of Richmond Hill, SENES/DCS, and the York Catholic District School Board for making the air cleaner for everyone in Markham and Richmond Hill by participating in this year's Clean Air Commute.
Your efforts helped make this year's Clean Air Commute a record success, with 189 workplaces and more than 18,000 employees participating in the Toronto/ GTA area during the week of June 13-19. The final tally is in: 480.28 tonnes of pollution were prevented from entering in our environment!
19th Annual Clean Air Commute Appreciation and Awards Reception
Pollution Probe hosted its 19th Annual Clean Air Commute Appreciation and Awards Reception on July 6th at the John Labatt Hall on Queen's Quay West.

Pollution Probe and Smart Commute presented certificates of recognition to workplaces with leading participation rates as well as draws for the Grand Prizes for all commuters who logged at least one day's commute at the awards ceremony.

Clean Air Commute Segway Clinic at the Town of Richmond Hill
Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill and Town of Richmond Hill staff promoted alternative and sustainable methods of travel during the Clean Air Commute Segway Clinic (sponsored by Pollution Probe for Clean Air Commute week) by demonstrating the electric driving potential of the Nissan Leaf, Segway, and the Smart Commute Electric bike at the event.

The Segway clinic demonstrated the basic operation, safety features, and riding etiquette of the Segway to town employees.

Smart Commute MRH also promoted Clean Air Commute at the event by demonstrating how such various transportation methods can help reduce Green House Gas emissions.
