Working at home not bad

Telework article (FLO)

Homework not really bad. Flo McLellan is the program director of Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill. Seated in her home office, she says telework has its pros and cons, although saving on the rising price of gasoline may be a definite advantage of working from home. 'People are spending a fortune on gas,' she says.

If you have caught on with just one technology fad over the last two decades, chances are you have teleworked in some way, be it to check business e-mails from your personal laptop, schedule an interview over your BlackBerry or send that very important presentation via your iPhone.

For some, the tendency to work after you've left the office is something that can't be helped.

But for others, working from home isn't an obsession, but an option.

When she's not in her Richmond Hill office, Flo McLellan can likely be found working in the comfort of her home near Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive. The program director for Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill has had a home office for nearly 20 years. "It's a two-way street - it's a win-win situation," Ms McLellan said.
