PNWA Annual Meeting SUCCESS!
PNWA's 75th Annual Meeting held this past week in Vancouver, Washington was a great success! Our agenda offered something of interest for every PNWA member and provided valuable information on Pacific Northwest navigation, trade and economic development. We were able to meet with informative and enthusiastic speakers, regional industry leaders, and federal agency staff; set the PNWA policy agenda for 2010; and elect our new Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Rick Finn, Federal Affairs Manager for the Port of Portland, was elected President of the PNWA Board of Directors. Rick was first elected to the Board in 2002 and has served as Senior Vice President for the last two years. Joining him in leading PNWA is Senior Vice President Patsy Martin, Executive Director of the Port of Skagit County, WA and Treasurer Jim Toomey, Executive Director of the Port of Pasco, WA. The complete list of the new PNWA Board of Directors is presented below. PNWA was able to honor our outgoing President Don Mann, General Manager of the Port of Newport, at our 75th Birthday Bash on the evening of October 13th. Don was presented with a framed print of the U.S. Capitol Building, signed by Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Congressman Kurt Schrader.
During our Birthday Bash, Jay Ward, Director of Business Outreach for Senator Ron Wyden, presented PNWA with a letter of recognition from President Barack Obama. The letter commemorates PNWA's 75 years of successful advocacy for navigation, trade and economic development in the Pacific Northwest. It was a great honor for PNWA to receive this recognition, and we would like to thank Senator Wyden's staff for their work to secure the letter.
