Corps releases stimulus project funding amounts

Today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released the list of projects that will receive additional funding from H.R. 1, the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act", more commonly known as the stimulus package or "ARRA".  ARRA was signed into law by President Obama on February 17th, and in the ensuing months, the Corps districts, divisions, and headquarters have been working to finalize a project spending plan that will meet the criteria of the stimulus package and the approval of OMB.  As part of the stimulus package, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was directly appropriated $4.6 billion for its Civil Works Program. The $4.6 billion includes $2 billion for construction projects and $2.075 billion for operations and maintenance of existing projects.  For a general description of the criteria the Corps used to select projects, please see the following guidance that was posted to PNWA's website in March: Corps stimulus project funding criteria.
