We have lots about which to talk this week. We are involved in benefits plan peer benchmarking, customized benefits web portal development and other things. We will discuss those more in the next issue.
The big news is the rollout of our new interactive blog at http://bocabenefits.com/blog . It has been designed to allow HR and Benefits professionals to read benefits-related posts, leave their comments, leave their own questions, have others respond to those questions with answers, and at times publish more lengthy pieces. It is not just for HR and Benefits people. We encourage CEO's, CFO's, senior managers and other business owners to read and contribute as well. We will be flexible in terms of broadening the scope of the discussions to general management issues when warranted.
We have taken this project very seriously. In order to control the operation of the blog from soup to nuts, and to make sure it would have the durable nature we foresee, we decided it had to be built rather then use one of the many "free" blog sites available. We moved our basic web site to a new server platform with all the back-end database software we needed. We installed the internationally known blog engine WordPress as the core. We are using a Linux web server and a Linux database server at one of the largest hosting companies in the U.S. with full redundancy and backup resources. The database is the open access mySQL with a phpMYADMIN interface. More than you wanted to know right? Just wanted to express how serious we were in the way we approached this project. We want this blog to have a long life and significant depth of supporting resources. Please come visit the Boca Benefits Consulting Group Inc. blog and leave some comments!e is:
