| Have we been to YOUR BUSINESS?
At Leaders Credit Union, we love to bring the party everywhere we go, and our members always benefit from it.
At teacher inservices, we're known as the calendar people, and at the hospitals, you can count on being entered for a VISA gift card and receiving a great new account gift whenever you join with Leaders. If your business has a quarterly staff meeting or annual benefits fair, we'd love to be involved. We try to make ourselves as convenient as possible for our members, even if it means bringing the credit union right into your office.

What's the Big Deal?
Our management and staff are constantly searching out ways that we can support you as our member. Whether that means lobbying for your needs on Capitol Hill, or creating more visibility on the national or local stage for credit unions, or simply being more convenient for you by showing up at your business or organization's benefits fair, Leaders Credit Union seeks out every opportunity to invest in you.
This issue of your credit union newsletter will focus on some of the more recent activities we have been a part of that will enhance your experience as a member. |

"Hiking the Hill" to Lobby for your Financial Needs
President, Marketing Director and Board members attend the Governmental Affairs Conference
 | | Sen. Alexander addresses his TN credit union constituents. |
On March 18, representatives from Leaders Credit Union traveled to Washington DC to attend the Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference. This three-day long meeting is the largest gathering of credit union officials in the nation and it serves as the hub for many new ideas, innovations, partnerships, and strategies for credit union future success.
 | | From left to right: Todd Swims, Kirk Newcom, Rep. Steven Fincher, Eddie Hays, Josh McAfee | The major focus of the week, however, is the meeting with legislators to discuss pending bills that impact credit union membership. One of the largest bills for this general assembly was the Member Business Lending cap (H.R. 1418 & S.2231). Many of you may own small to medium-sized businesses and may have wondered why it is difficult to secure commercial financing from your credit union. Without going into tremendous detail, we are restricted by the federal government as a credit union on how much we can lend to member-owned businesses.
This new legislation intends to lower that restriction tremendously and allow credit unions like Leaders to better empower local community businesses.
How can you help?

and let your legislators know that you support
H.R. 1418 and S. 2231. |
