Greetings!
If you've watched, read or listened to the news recently, you may have noticed that many local and national banks are increasing their fees associated with their checking accounts. This comes on the heels of heavy government legislation to cut income for financial institutions across the US. However, Leaders knows that this is the time when our members are trying to save the most. We have made a commitment to keeping our products at the lowest possible cost, and even free in some cases. If you have never considered a checking account with Leaders Credit Union before now, we'd like to offer some reasons why you might check us out. As always, thank you again for your continued membership and patronage with our fine institution.
Sincerely,
Todd Swims
President & CEO

Debit cards and e-statements for all
If you're not using Leaders Credit Union for your checking needs, your bank may have recently started charging you for your debit card. This is largely because the federal government has passed legislation limiting the amount of income that a financial institution may receive from your use of a debit card. Banks are beginning to recuperate the loss by passing it onto the consumer.
Leaders, however, has made a conscious effort to keep our free checking account... well, free! We're doing as much as possible to keep the cost of our products and services down, helping you to save money.
If you're not with Leaders, however, here are some tips to help keep the cost of your checking account to a minimum. We strongly encourage you to look into our products, but if you'd rather keep your current account, first try switching to as many e-services as possible. Many banks have to charge extra today because of the expenses involved with processing paper checks and statements, so if you use your debit card and e-statements, many banks will lower your monthly charges.
An added benefit to using a debit card and online banking is a more real-time representation of your account balances. transactions made on your debit card will be shown almost instantly on your account, and if you log into your online banking daily, you will be able to keep a better track of how much money you have in each account. |

An account to fit every need
We believe that we have the best checking accounts that West Tennessee has to offer. Period. If we didn't, we wouldn't even try. However, we understand why some of our members choose other banks in town. Traditionally, some of the objections have been legitimate: not enough branches, no ATMs outside Jackson, too small for me.
However, with new developments both in account servicing and the online and mobile revolution, Leaders Credit Union not only offers the best that banking has to offer, but we offer it for the lowest possible cost in West Tennessee. Here's how:
- Simply Free Checking ::: if you're looking for a no-frills account that keeps your wallet thick and makes your money convenient to access, this is the account for you. No monthly fees, overdraft protection available, and free debit card with online AND mobile banking. Click here for more details!
- Member Protection Checking (NEW!) ::: this account is for those who like their money with a side of self-assurance. For only $4.95 per month, you get all the benefits of Simply Free PLUS identity theft restoration from Identity Theft 911, $10,000 of accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and 3 ATM refunds upon request. Add it all up, and you could pay for these services separately for $20 per month, without the checking account! Click here for more details!
- Premier Plus Checking ::: do you keep more than $1000 in your checking account on a regular basis? How about getting some recognition for that? Not only will you get a great checking account with the benefits of both other accounts, but we'll also pay you a nominal rate of interest (rates may vary) for balances in excess of $1000.
