In Everything Give Thanks
by Matthew Ellison

Can we truly thank God for all things?

Giving thanks to God is not too difficult when we are chest deep in the temporal and spiritual blessings that we desire - but what of the burdens, the bumps, the bruises, the sorrows, the sufferings and the disappointments of life, surely we can't be expected to thank God for them as well?

A Church Unleashed

by Matthew Ellison

Unclear, unengaging, uninviting... these were some of the words that the leaders at Northside Christian in Clovis California used to describe their church's approach to missions when, over a year ago, they began Sixteen:Fifteen's church missions coaching process.

Unleashed is the word that describes their mission ministry today. Tommy Corrao, the missions pastor recently had this to say, "We have partnered over the past year plus with Sixteen:Fifteen and have seen HUGE growth.  Here are 3 things that the missions coaching process produced for us:
  1. Unity: It has brought unity among our leadership on why, what, and where we do missions.
  2. Clarity: This process has given extreme clarity for us as to Northside's role in the Great Commission.
  3. Passion: Our church is beginning to sense something and it is producing passion within people."
Several weeks ago the leadership team at Northside Christian unveiled their church's vision to plant churches that plant churches among the Huichol people of Mexico and the Sikhs of North India.  Understand, this is not an ethereal vision, this vision includes "handles," that is, broad sets of opportunities so that anyone and everyone at Northside can take hold of this eternally significant work.  And that is exactly is what is happening --- God, through this clear, heart grabbing vision, is stirring up passion and this passion is unleashing a movement of generosity and compassion that is being directed at their focus peoples.

George Miley said, "As we enter the third millennium of the Christian era, there is widespread awareness that the energy and capacity of the missions movement  would be appreciably enhanced if we could bring more local churches into meaningful participation To say that the Church is an awesome resource is an understatement...She is more than that.  She is a God-designed central player, a full partner.  The vast majority of all the resources God has entrusted to His people --- spiritual gifts, vocational expertise, life experience, capacity for spiritual warfare, financial reserves, etc. --- He has placed in local churches... "

Thank you once again, for standing with Sixteen:Fifteen in enhancing the energy and capacity of the missions movement by unleashing yet another church to reach the unreached.
