Feels Like Summer--It's Time for Mt. View Chicken on the Grill!

The temperature is expected to reach 73 degrees on Saturday--the perfect day to bike the back roads in the Collegeville area to the Longview Farm Store to visit our Collegeville Farmers' Market vendors!  Pick up some marinated chickens ready for the grill or Mountain View's delicious specially-prepared turkey burgers for your dinner on your deck this weekend!

You can visit the following Collegeville Farmers' Market vendors this Saturday at the Longview Farm Store:

Mountain View Poultry Farm -- Spring has sprung and our pasture-raised eggs are bigger than ever this week, with super-golden yolks from the new spring grass!

Speaking of our wonder eggs, don't forget to check out our new pickled egg bar! This week we will have available eggs flavored with original "red beet," Jamaican jerk, dill, honey mustard, dark & spicy, jalapeno and our newest flavor, buffalo wing.

Other new products available this week are turkey Swiss mushroom burgers or turkey cheddar bacon burgers--perfect on the grill!  They are delicious and lean but packed with flavor.

Marie looks forward to having you stop by tomorrow!

Old Mill Gourmet  returns this week with the following products:  mango strawberry jam, white peach raspberry jam, local honey and honey sticks in natural clover and mango flavors.

Marcy's Granola--Stop by this Saturday and sample a different flavor of Marcy's six original flavors of artisan granola. Also check out Marcy's packaging which now includes Nutritional Facts.   Marcy's granola is made with oats, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, and she uses only the finest oil and vegan-friendly sweeteners to make it slightly sweet.

Our Collegeville Farmers' Market vendors sell inside the Longview Farm Store each Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. through April 28th, 2012.

The Longview Center for Agriculture is located at the former Willow Creek Farm, 3215 Stump Hall Road in Collegeville.

While visiting our farmers and vendors this week, check out the variety of local, sustainably produced products at the farm store, including ramps, the famous wild onion with a unique oniony-garlic flavor.  Perfect to add a twist to your recipes!  The store also carries freshly picked green kale, rainbow Swiss chard, red beets, lettuce, arugula and harvest mix, scallions, herbs, carrots, garlic, and the many varieties of onions, potatoes, apples, and pears.

Expanded Hours for the Longview Farm Store

Longview's store, which is operated by the non-profit Greener Partners, is closed on Mondays, and is now open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
