February 11th Market

Delight your Valentine

with Locally Produced,

All-Natural Gifts from the Collegeville Farmers' Market and

The Longview Farm Store!

Here are gift ideas from our vendors:

Your valentine will love a gift set of selections from Om Shanti Naturals! Give him or her handmade bath and body products -- including soap, moisturizing lip balms, body scrubs, massage oils, body washes, bath salts, bath oils and much more.

How about combining that gift set with some special wines from A'dello Vineyards? Taste their selections this week, including their chardonnays: Chardonnay Reserve, Chardonnay Naked, and semi-sweet Cardonnel, as well as their reds: a Chambourcin, Merlot or Cabernet Franc; their Cellar Door Collection of rose wines and their delicious signature fruit wines.

Maria returns this week with Old Mill Gourmet's Mango Strawberry Jam, White Peach Raspberry Jam, Blueberry Lime Jam and Pink Applesauce as well as Argentine Chimichurri and Honey. How about making up a gift basket of Maria's jams and sauces?

All-natural, good-for-you treats can make a great present. FreshAPeel Hummus returns this week with a number of their hummus flavors reflecting both local and cross cultural influences. Their hummus is made using a handcrafted single-batch production process for each of their tasty flavors. Their hummus is perfect for lunch, a tasty snack or for entertaining family and friends.

Speaking of all-natural, Marcy's Granola is back with her six original flavors of artisan granola, including her newest, cashew with cranberries. Her granola is made with oats, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, and she uses only the finest oil and vegan friendly sweeteners to make it slightly sweet. Try a free sample on Saturday, and you can also pre-order from her website: www.shop.marcysgranola.com

and pick up your order at the market.

Or--cook your Valentine a wonderful dinner: Mountain View Poultry Farm will be bringing these new products: turkey, chicken and duck jerky infused with sea salt and an assortment of sea salt flavorings: vintage merlot, spicy curry, chipotle, lemon twist, vanilla bean, espresso brava, aged balsamic and sun ripened tomato.

Additionally, they have plenty of eggs--stock up! This week, Mountain View is offering a special of two dozen eggs for $8.00 or four dozen for $15.00. They will also bring soups, sausages and marinated poultry, whole and cut up chickens and turkeys as well as all parts. Mountain View's poultry is never given antibiotics, hormones or pesticides. At this time of year, when the birds spend more time indoors due to the extra cold weather, their diet is supplemented with ground alfalfa to keep them healthy.

How about warming up the grill and hearts with a winter barbeque for your special someone? Bigg Dutt's BBQ is bringing Matt's special BBQ sauces along with his Jacked Up Chipotle Sauce and barbeque rubs.

One of my favorite gifts are socks from Little Lost Creek Alpaca Farm! They will have all their alpaca products available-including their heavenly soft and warm socks--and handcrafted pottery by local potter Nicole Dubrow.

Or--Take the Traditional Approach! Buy Your Valentine Flowers From Our Local Greenwald Florist at 360 East Main Street in Collegeville!

By purchasing from Greenwald's, you will get more in flowers, service and creativity. And when you mention that you are "buying local," you will get a free Valentine Mylar balloon!

Jenny is offering the following Valentine Specials:

  • A Kiss with TuLips! This is a vase of mixed tulips for $30.
  • Sweethearts: A vase of sweetheart spray roses $35
