The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to fill out and it is simple to complete. All you have to do is click on the link below and then mark your choices and enter any comments. All survey results will be kept confidential.
Progress on the market will be broadcast through various sources including our monthly newsletter, newspaper coverage, etc.

On Friday, June 11, representatives of State Farm presented the Collegeville Main Street Program (CMSP) with a check in the amount of $3,500 to be used for the State Farm Good Neighbors Curbside Appeal Program. The Good Neighbors Program was developed by the Collegeville Main Street Program (CMSP) Design Committee to compliment the Façade Challenge Program already in operation. The Good Neighbors Program will allow property and business owners within the designated Main Street District to receive a matching grant up to $500 to improve their curbside spaces with hardscaping or landscaping. Similar to the Façade Challenge Program, owners will need to submit an application along with plans and quotes, and the Design Committee will need to approve any plans before work begins. Larry Hoak, State Farm agent located on Main Street in Collegeville is pleased that State Farm is able to assist with the revitalization of Collegeville. "State Farm is committed to meeting the needs of our communities and part of that is helping neighborhoods and local businesses prosper. To us, being a good neighbor is more than a slogan, it is our business. We are honored to be a part of this wonderful Main Street program and look forward to a continued and successful partnership."
"This is a wonderful opportunity for property and business owners to improve the overall look of the property. Not only can owners receive up to $5000 for projects relating to the facade of the building, now they can also receive money for projects in front of their buildings or in their front yard," says Debbie Riegner, Design Committee Chairperson. Main Street Volunteers in the News
Margot Aronson, a volunteer involved with the Collegeville Main Street Farmers Market Committee and realtor with Re/Max 440 in Skippack, has been selected as a Five Star Best in Overall Satisfaction Real Estate Agent and will be recognized in the September issue of the Philadelphia Magazine!
Crescendo Business Services conducts the Five Star Award Program with leading city magazines throughout the country. In Philadelphia, an independent third party Research Company does evaluations by mail and phone to over 50,000 recent homebuyers. They ask the participants to score their Real Estate Agent on a number of different customer service attributes including; communication, market knowledge, negotiation, closing preparation and more. Each Agent is rated on a scale of 1-8 with 1 being poor and 8 being excellent.
As the research company receives the evaluations back they then tabulate a score for each Agent. The top score getters make the final list and the list is limited to less than 7% of the Real estate agents in their particular area. If you see Margot, send her Congratulations and thank her for being part of the Farmers Market Committee. |
Collegeville Begins Downtown Revitalization Study
The Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) has hired a prominent downtown revitalization consultant to conduct a market assessment and identify opportunities for economic growth within Collegeville. The consultant, JGSC Group of Merchantville, New Jersey, has extensive experience in the analysis of downtown markets and the formation of strategies to stimulate economic growth in commercial districts. They have conducted their Community Insights program in 66 communities across eight states, with a focus on communities in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
A primary goal of their Community Insights program will be to further the efforts of the Collegeville Main Street Program. Specifically, JGSC will focus on assessing the market, gauging consumer preferences and identifying growth potential for retail goods and services. "This is an important step in our efforts to revitalize downtown Collegeville," said Debbie Riegner, President of the CEDC.
In the coming months, JGSC Group will conduct a consumer preferences survey of the people who live, work, shop, study, and visit the Collegeville area to understand which types of stores, restaurants and businesses they want. Before launching the survey, JGSC will seek input from government and civic leaders, business and commercial property owners, and other key stakeholders. A field team will begin work the week of July 5th to conduct evaluations of commercial buildings to recommend ways they could better function for retail use.
Work is commencing immediately and the overall effort will take about 6 to 7 months to complete. Public presentations, such as recent kick off meeting held at Bomberger Hall at Ursinus College will be conducted at various stages throughout the process.
JGSC was selected as a result of a competitive bid process based on a RFP issued by the Collegeville Main Street Program in 2009. Funding has been provided, in part, by grants from the Borough of Collegeville and Ursinus College.
