COHA Introduces Bill to Stiffen Penalties for Serious Poaching Violations

COHA is sponsoring state legislation which would significantly increase penalties for egregious poaching violations - including cases where poachers intentionally target trophy big game animals using illegal methods, such as bait or artificial lights.  AB 1162, by Assembly Member Wes Chesbro (D-Arcata), would raise fines, authorize hunting license revocation and provide for equipment forfeiture for serious poaching incidents where violators intentionally break our fish and game rules.  To view the press release on AB 1162, click here.
