Warm up at the October 11th Chilifest in Bothell to support Hopelink
An annual tradition, come to downtown Bothell's premier chili event! Sample the culinary wares of 15 chili chefs. There is no admission charge so please bring a can of chili, or other non-perishable food item, or cash donation. Each $1 or food item donated gets you a single Vote for People's Choice.
Chilifest is hosted by Evergreen Washelli.

 Tickets are now being sold to attend the Chamber's Annual Holiday Dinner & Auction on Friday, November 9 at Courtyard Hall in Country Village. The cost is $50 per person and includes your dinner and beverages for the evening. We've received a variety of donation already such as; Las Vegas hotel stay from Mike Mallory-US Travel, Happy Hour Excursion for 10 from Alexa's Cafe, and tickets to an upcoming performance from Northshore Performing Arts Center...just to name a few. But we are still looking for more! Remember your donations will significantly help fund Chamber programs and services. In addition, your business gets exposure at the Auction and the purchaser may even turn into a new loyal customer! UW Bothell Hosts Two-Day Career Fair October 3 & 4
University of Washington Bothell Career Services and Office of Community Based Learning is hosting the Career and Community Connections Fair on Wednesday, October 3 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM and Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The public is welcome to attend.
Up to 30 unique employers will attend each day. Participants include: Boeing, Target, Amazon, Northwestern Mutual, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Wells Fargo, JC Penney, Northshore YMCA, Redfin and more.
The fair will be held at the University of Washington Bothell campus, 18115 Campus Way NE in Bothell (I-405 Exit 24).

Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation Annual Luncheon "Spring for the Arts!" Friday, October 5 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Enjoy lunch, wine, and entertainment at NPACF's fundraising luncheon! Join us Friday, October 5 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Mobius Hall CC3 at Cascadia Community College.
Tickets: $30 per person - including parking. Proceeds will help support NPACF and our efforts that were started last year to bring live performing arts into Northshore School District schools. Three schools partnered with us last school year. The program goal is to reach eight schools this school year.

Cascadia Community College is partnering with Everett Community College's Corporate & Continuing Education Center to expand training for business and industry.
"This partnership allows us to bring highly regarded professional continuing education and training programs to our community in an accelerated time frame. The programs will serve working professionals, local corporations, and small businesses," Cascadia President Eric Murray said.

Harvest Festival at Country Village October 13 & 14 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Come celebrate the fall season October 13th and 14th, at Bothell's Country Village! The festival will run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Stroll the grounds decorated with corn stalks, scarecrows and pumpkins while you enjoy live music and dance performances on the stage.
Paint a pumpkin in our Pumpkin Painting room! Pumpkins and paints are included for a small fee. The festivities will also include 40+ one-of-a-kind local artisans, the original King's Kettle Korn, roasted corn on the cob and more! Pony rides, train rides, face painting and other entertainment will be available for a nominal fee. A wine and beer garden, hosted by The Mercantile Wine and Goods and Foggy Noggin Brewery, will be available for those 21 and older.

Catch the Spirit of Oktoberfest & Support the Northshore Rotary! Saturday, October 13 4:00 - 9:00 PM
Catch the spirit of Oktoberfest in Leavenworth without the long drive. Oktoberfest in Bothell has food, draft beer, local wines, nonalcoholic beverages, live music, and folk dancing to watch and join. Children 6-14 are half price. Children age 5 and under are included with an adult ticket.

"And Then There Were None" to play at the Northshore Senior Center Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays in October
"And Then There Were None" will be performed by Curtain Call Theatre in our very own Northshore Senior Center.
Ticket prices are: $15.00 for General public; $12.50 for Seniors and Children 10 and under; Groups of 10 or more $12.00 each
PLOT: In this superlative mystery comedy statuettes of little soldier boys on the mantel of a house on an island off the coast of Devon fall to the floor and break one by one as those in the house succumb to a diabolical avenger. A nursery rhyme tells how each of the ten "soldiers" met his death until there were none. Eight guests who have never met each other or their apparently absent host and hostess are lured to the island and, along with the two house servants, marooned. A mysterious voice accuses each of having gotten away with murder and then one drops dead --- poisoned. One down and nine to go!
Thursday and Friday performances begin at 8:00 PM: October 18, 19, 25 & 26. Sunday performances begin at 3:30 PM: October 21 & 28

Bastyr University's Haunted Trails October 12-13 & 19-20
Bastyr University's annual "Haunted Trails" is returning for another year of spooky fun! Hosted in the forest behind Bastyr University's Kenmore campus the weekends of October 12-13 and 19-20, the event is one of the biggest scarefests in the area and includes frightfully enjoyable activities for teenagers and adults, as well as trick-or-treating for children ages 8 and younger. And it's all for a good cause, as proceeds benefit student study abroad programs.
Festivities begin for ages 8 and younger with The Great Pumpkin's Trick-or-Treating Adventure from 5:00 - 6:45 PM (cost is $5 per child), followed by the Children's Carnival from 5:30 - 9:00 PM.
Then things get scary when the Haunted Trails open from 7:00 -11:00 PM each Friday and Saturday night ($20 per person). Events include: Haunted Trails, Hades Labyrinth, Circus of Horrors, Cemetery Hill, Mummy's Tomb, Fortune telling, novelties, food and drinks.
Tickets are available in advance at HauntedTrails.org or at the door starting at 6:30 PM. Please note that a limited number of tickets are sold each night. The second weekend of Haunted Trails, October 19-20, is very busy and tickets can sell out as early as 8:45 PM. Visitors are advised to come the first weekend, Oct. 12-13, when lines are shorter.

Meet Sarah Hanavi, Branch Manager at New Key Bank in Canyon Park
 Sarah H. Hanavi has been named manager of KeyBank's new branch in Bothell. The branch, scheduled to open in October, will be located at 240th and Bothell-Everett Highway in Bothell. Hanavi has worked at two Seattle branches since joining the KeyBank in 2011: First Hill and Central District. She began her banking career with Washington Mutual in 2005 after an extensive career in the restaurant industry. She holds a bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University. Active in the community, Hanavi represents the bank as a volunteer with Junior Achievement of Washington and recently helped raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. |
