Contract Awarded for Final Phase of Bothell Crossroads Project
Earlier this month, Bothell City Council approved a contract with Guy F. Atkinson Construction for $15 million for the final phase of the Crossroads project. Located where SR-522, SR-527 and Bothell's Main Street converge, the Crossroads project will improve traffic congestion and increase safety on a critical commute and freight corridor. Over 44,000 vehicles pass though this intersection daily.

UW Bothell to Expand with Science and Academic Building Construction

Governor Christine Gregoire signed into law two bills, senate bill 5127 and senate bill 6074, which enable the University of Washington Bothell to move ahead with construction on its long-anticipated science and academic building to be known as UW 3. The 74,000-square-foot building will house 11 science labs, several classrooms, gathering space, and a 200-person lecture hall. This space translates into the ability to serve an additional 1,000 students each year. It is the first building to be constructed on the UW Bothell campus in 10 years. UW Bothell Chancellor Kenyon Chan says he is pleased and thankful the Governor signed these capital investment bills today.

The Northshore YMCA is inviting all kids and parents to stop by for a free community event on Saturday, April 28 - the YMCA's Healthy Kids DayŽ, which is the nation's largest health day for families.
This year's theme is "Play, Learn, Connect." The goal is to inspire three things in local kids and families: healthy lifestyles and physical activity year-round, a commitment to educational activities over the summer and closer connections in the community.
