Department of Revenue Launches Temporary Amnesty Program Do you owe taxes to the Department of Revenue? Is your business unregistered? Have you outgrown the active non-reporting status? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to know about the Department's temporary amnesty program. This program waives penalties and interest on certain unpaid taxes, giving you the opportunity to get straight with the state. If you owe state business and occupation (B&O) tax, state public utility tax, or state or local sales and use tax that was due before February 1, 2011, you may be eligible to have the penalties and interest on these taxes waived. UWB & Bellevue College to Jointly Enroll International Students A new type of educational partnership in the state of Washington was launched on Wednesday, Jan. 19, when the University of Washington Bothell and Bellevue College signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a cooperative admissions process for international students studying business in the United States.
The initiative is expected to begin in the Fall of 2012, when the first class of 20 students will be jointly admitted to Bellevue College and the University of Washington Bothell. The institutions anticipate that the first international cohort of students will come from China. The students will first complete two years of intensive study at Bellevue College, earning a two-year degree in business while also catching up with local students in their command of English and acquaintance with U.S. culture. Then they will transfer directly to UW Bothell for another two years to earn a bachelor of arts in business. Read more... |
