Superintendent's Communication Council Questions and Answers

Dr. Darrell Brown, Birdville ISD superintendent, has established several new communications councils this year. One of the groups is the Superintendent's Communications Council (SCC). The SCC consists of principal appointed staff members which represent each campus.

Dr. Brown asked each member to use this meeting as a conduit to bring staff questions directly to the superintendent and Cabinet. Below are questions and answers from the February 13 meeting.

BISD Offers Sign Language Classes

BISD is offering sign language classes from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning March 1 at Porter Elementary. This session runs once-a-week for eight weeks. The cost is $25 per person or $40 per family. There is an optional sign language book for $30. Classes are free to parents of deaf children. The school is located at 2750 Prestondale Dr. in Hurst. Academy at C.F. Thomas teachers, Josh Grizelle, Kathy Thomas, Sally Frye, and Tiffany Bingham, recently presented technology classes at the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) conference in Austin.

The communications department publishes the employee newsletter "e-nlightened" each week so staff can keep in touch with what is going on across the district. E-mail your pictures and a brief description to Communications and we will include them as space permits.
