Superintendent's Communications Council
Dr. Darrell Brown, Birdville ISD superintendent, has established several new communications councils this year. One of the groups is the Superintendent's Communications Council (SCC). The SCC consists of principal appointed staff members which represent each campus. Dr. Brown asked each member to use this meeting as a conduit to bring staff questions directly to the superintendent and Cabinet. Below are questions and answers from the October 17 meeting.

Important Individual Retirement
Account Information
All BISD employees are eligible to participate in a personal 403(b) retirement account. To assist with this, the district has contracts with two companies for 403(b) administrative and communication services. They are: JEM Resource Partners and ESC Region 10. Employees who are interested in creating a 403(b) account should visit the Region 10 Retirement Asset Management Services (RAMS) website at www.region10rams.org. Under the "Login" button, you can create a username, password, and profile, make a contribution election, and select an investment vendor. You can find a list of approved 403(b) vendors under the "403(b) Vendors" button on the main RAMS page. If you need help navigating the RAMS website or have general 403(b) questions, call JEM Resources Partners at 800-843-9179 ext. 2 for assistance. Below are links to information on the tax deferral benefits of 403(b) plans, how to enroll, and how to contribute.
