Governor Rick Perry has proclaimed Oct. 12 as Texas Education Human Resources Day, a day set aside to recognize and honor the important contributions made by school personnel who work in human resources. Human resources personnel work hard each day to ensure that our schools are staffed with high quality employees and that those employees have a good environment in which to work.
BISD appreciates its Human Resources Department staff members. They are: Richard Valenta, Ed.D., director; David Bach, assistant director; Suzy Compton, coordinator; Paige Curry, coordinator; Lisa Vargas, administrative assistant; Billie Boles, administrative assistant and personnel services webmaster; Pam Worley, administrative assistant; Eva Miranda, administrative assistant - auxiliary services; Gretta Bacon, administrative assistant - workers' compensation and leaves/absences; Pat Bynum administrative assistant - SubFinder; Jeannie Perkins, administrative assistant - certification; Toni Powers, administrative assistant; and Babs Holly, administrative assistant - business/insurance office.
The Haltom High School Varsity Choir along with choir members from the Haltom, North Oaks and Watauga middle schools sang the national anthem before the Grapevine vs. Haltom football game on Friday, Sept. 30.
Read Around the World by Christmas!
Pack your bags and your books! Students who read a certain number of books get to travel around the continents trying to make it back to Haltom City by Christmas. Then they will celebrate with a party for our great readers at Major Cheney Elementary!
Happy Reading and Traveling!
