At a special called meeting, the Birdville ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Leeann Michalak Bartee, Ph.D., as principal of Richland Middle School. She replaces Cheri Sizemore, Ed.D., who was appointed BISD's high school math consultant in June.
Bartee has been principal at the Leonard Sixth Grade Center in Fort Worth ISD (FWISD) since 2009. She also served as assistant principal and dean of instruction at Polytechnic High School in FWISD from 2008-09. Prior to FWISD, she was assistant principal at Haltom Middle School from 2006-07, and academic dean from 2006-07 and teacher from 2002-05 at Richland High School.
She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, master's degree from the University of North Texas, and doctor's degree from Walden University.
