The communications department publishes the employee newsletter "e-nlightened" each week so staff can keep in touch with what is going on across the district.  E-mail your pictures and a brief description to Communications and we will include them as space permits.
Associate Superintendent for Finance Appointed

The Birdville ISD Board of Trustees at a special meeting approved the appointment of Robert Michael Seale, CPA to the position of associate superintendent for finance. Seale will replace Quentin Burnett, Ph.D., who took a similar position for Lewisville ISD.

 

"I am excited to have Mike Seale join the administrative team in Birdville," Superintendent Darrell Brown said. "Having worked with him previously, I know he brings to BISD a wealth of experience, knowledge and integrity in the area of educational finance."

 

Seale has been employed as chief financial officer in Forney ISD since September 2010. Previously, he was self-employed as a CPA from 2009-2010; chief operating officer from 2007-2009 at Fort Bend ISD; and chief operating officer/chief financial officer at Galena Park ISD from 2000-2007. In addition, he has served in various positions from staff accountant to chief financial officer from 1974-1994.

 

He received his bachelor's degree from Baylor University and his master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University. Seale is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.

 

Seale will begin work in July.

BISD football season tickets for 2011 are on sale from July 6 through Aug. 12 at the Fine Arts/Athletics Complex. Season ticket packets for Haltom and Richland high schools are $42 each, and Birdville High is $35. Renewal for  current season ticket holders from the 2010 season is open through July 1. Fifth-grade students at Mullendore Elementary display the Community of Respect Everywhere (CORE) "Chain of Respect" created this past school year. Students earned chain links this year each time they were caught doing something respectful. The links, containing their actions, were read each morning on the announcements, attached together, and hung from the ceiling in the main hallway. They will continue adding to the chain during the 2011-12 school year.

Transfer requests will be accepted March 21 - May 2. (Extended until July 15) 
 
To access the Campus Transfer Request Application employees should use their PeopleSoft ID# as their login and the last four digits of their social security number as their password. Employees will be notified by a principal or campus administrator if a position becomes available at the campus requested.

        

Resignation Deadline

  ----------------------------------------------------------------

The last date for resignation for contract personnel is "not later than the 45th day before the first day of instruction of the following school year." The first day of instruction for 2011 - 2012 is August 22, 2011; therefore, the last day for all contract personnel to resign is July 7, 2011.
