week2010 School Psychology Awareness Week
Focus: Helping students find simple ways to bring out the best in themselves and others
Nov. 8-12

The theme of this year's School Psychology Awareness Week, "Today is a good day to... SHINE!" focuses on shining a light on the positive work school psychologists do to promote students' academic and personal success. Birdville Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs) spend most of their time making eligibility recommendations for students in special education, participating in ARD meetings, and conducting staff development.   This year, your LSSPs are making renewed efforts to reach out to school staff, students and parents with increased prevention efforts and closer collaboration with school counselors for students in need.   Birdville's LSSPs are most interested in helping students and assisting campuses in problem solving for challenging classroom situations, and they really enjoy the opportunity to help students and schools shine!
