National Dyslexia Awaremess
In celebration of National Dyslexia Awareness Month, Birdville ISD is promoting awareness of dyslexia and related language-based learning disorders by offering a free, community awareness event.

BISD is offering free Spanish classes for educators
BISD's Title I Parent Connection Center is offering Spanish classes for Educators. Classes are open to any BISD staff member wanting to learn Spanish. Classes are taught at the Shannon Learning Center in room 209. Beginner classes meet every Tuesday from 4-5:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 5. Classes end Dec. 7.

RHS 50th Anniversary Homecoming Parade
Richland High School's 2010 50th Anniversary Homecoming Parade begins at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 25. There is a parade planning meeting from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 4 in the cafeteria. For information and entry fee details, contact Deborah Pizzini at 817.706.8401.

Green Valley Elementary Hosting Building a Framework for Thinking Nov. 17 & 18

Green Valley Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon School, has incorporated a true Interdisciplinary Instructional Approach to teaching and learning using many strategies and a universal vocabulary once reserved for gifted and talented classrooms to foster higher level thinking in all scholars. We have found this approach to create a fundamental systemic change in instructional delivery and assessment.
