Eight Birdville ISD schools participated in Education in Action's Experiential Learning Day Programs this school year. Six schools took their fourth graders on the "Proud to be Texan" day program to Austin, and two schools took their fifth graders on the "Water Rocks" day program to the Cameron Park Zoo and Inner Space Cavern.

Texas alone at the top; only state to meet all college and career readiness measures. |
Texas is the first, and so far, only state to meet all the American Diploma Project's five key college and career readiness measures, Achieve, a national bipartisan organization, announced recently.
In a report called Closing the Expectations Gap, Achieve said "Texas has the most comprehensive approach to college and career ready accountability."

Watauga Elementary was recently awarded a $4,700 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries to be used for bilingual books in their school library.
