Deadline for Claiming Compensation for Unused Leave Retirement is February 1 |
To qualify for this benefit, an employee shall:
1. Submit a notice of retirement to personnel services no later than Feb. 1 of the school year of retirement. After the deadline, exceptions for sudden, unexpected events may be appealed to an administrative committee;
2. Be eligible for retirement benefits from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas; and
3. Be employed after July 1, 2003, and have been in the District with no break in service for a minimum of five years. Please review Policy DEC (LOCAL) for full details concerning compensation for unused leave at retirement. |
January is School Board Recognition Month |
Governor Rick Perry has proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month to help highlight the contributions of dedicated men and women who take the time to care about our local schools. The Birdville Independent School District will join districts across the state to thank board members for voluntarily tackling the enormous job of governing local school districts.
