BISD Athletics Hall of Honor
 Hall of Honor
The Athletics Department of Birdville ISD is having their annual Hall of Honor dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the Fine Arts/Athletics Complex. The 2009 inductees are Jim Hardin, Joe Bill Fox, Hugh Hamm, Dee Wood, Robert Cowan and Kelvin Garmon. The master of ceremonies for this special evening is Jody Dean. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Fine Arts/Athletics Complex or Thomas Coliseum. For information, call 817.547.5820.
 
 
Major Cheney Dedication
On Monday, Nov. 2, BISD celebrated the renaming of Major Cheney Elementary at South Birdville, formerly South Birdville Elementary.

 Richland Band Boosters Sponsor Fiesta 2009

Richland High School's band boosters are sponsoring Fiesta 2009:  Casino Night and Auction to benefit the award winning Richland Rebel Band. Fiesta 2009 is from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning.
 
 
Birdville Education Foundation Fundraiser

The Birdville Education Foundation has arranged a special fundraiser with Rosa's at 2200 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 4, Rosa's will donate 15 percent of each BISD staff members ticket to the Foundation.

  • The promotion is good every Wednesday through May 26, 2010.
  • This promotion is for BISD staff only.
  • Rosa's will track all purchases - lunch, dinner, drive thru - and donate 15 percent of all purchases on that day not including tax to the Foundation.
  • Mention the BISD Education Foundation and show your BISD identification.  
The Birdville Education Foundation supports innovative learning and promote educational excellence by securing funding through public and private partnerships.

Richland Middle to Honor Veterans, November 11
Richland Middle School invites all veterans employed by BISD to join them on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11 for breakfast and a special ceremony. Breakfast will be served in the Ram Library beginning at 7:20 a.m. followed by a special ceremony in the auditorium at 8:10 a.m.
 
If you are able to attend, please e-mail your name, branch of service, years of service, any special medals or recognition and/or a picture (past or present) with the information requested above to [email protected].
 
 
2009-2010 Grant Application Guidelines
Birdville Education FoundationPurpose:
The Birdville Education Foundation has established a Grant Award Program.  The grants are to be used to fund innovative programs in which budgeted dollars are not available or for other areas that will enhance educational opportunities and results for Birdville students.
 
Persons eligible to apply for grants:
Individuals or teams who are employed by Birdville ISD and are involved in the direct instruction of students are eligible to apply for grants.  Teachers may apply for up to three individual grants per year.
 
Deadline:  Nov. 20
