The Communications Department produces the employee newsletter "e-nlightened" each week so that staff can keep in touch with what is going on across the district. E-mail your pictures and a brief description to Communications and we will include them as space permits.

Flu Information

BISD has been planning and preparing for a wonderful school year. It is our goal that all students have a healthy and productive year. Still, we know there are concerns about a possible return or resurgence of the H1N1 flu virus.

The district has developed a Web site with a wide variety of resources on the flu (Type A and H1N1) for parents.

Educator Evening in the Cultural District

Don't Miss Educator Evening in the Cultural District next Thursday, September 24 in Ft. Worth! This is an opportunity to:

Learn about the unique resources available to support your teaching objectives;
Enjoy free entry to current exhibits at Fort Worth's renowned Art, Science and History institutions; and
Refreshments, Fun, lots of free handouts, activity ideas and more.

This special evening just for teachers, is a chance to become familiar with the education staff and receive free resources from every participating site.

"Stop Bullying Now"

North Ridge Middle School is offering a parent education program from 7:15-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the cafeteria. The program "Stop Bullying Now" will be presented by Susanne Hutchinson from Texas PTA. The program examines the causes and effects of bullying, prevention techniques, and legal/ethical issues surrounding bullying.

SAT Preparation

Haltom High School is hosting a six-week SAT preparation program from Saturday, Sept. 26 through Nov. 7 at Haltom High. The course will be taught by Revolution Prep.
