Trustees Approve Appointment of Two Principals |
Birdville ISD's Board of Trustees approved the appointments of Timothy S. Drysdale as principal at Grace E. Hardeman Elementary and Patrick Guy as principal at Holiday Heights Elementary. Drysdale replaces Steve Ellis, who was named principal at North Ridge Middle School, and Guy replaces Donna Solley, who was named BISD's director of curriculum and instruction.

Texas Bandmasters Association 2009 Exemplary Band Program Awards |
San Antonio - The Texas Bandmasters Association has named the Dr. Ralph H. Poteet High School Pirate Band and the North Richland Middle School Band as recipients of the 2009 Exemplary Band Program Awards. Scott Coulson is the director of the Poteet Band and Melodianne Mallow is the director of the North Richland band. A description of each band program follows.

Haltom High Teacher Attends Prestigious Summer Institute |
In June, Ann Hale of Haltom High School joined outstanding teachers from across the state at "The U.S. Constitution and American History," an institute sponsored by Humanities Texas, The University of Texas at Austin and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum. "The U.S. Constitution and American History" drew 43 teachers to the LBJ Library and Museum in Austin for four days of seminars, lectures and workshops. Ten of the participants were nominated by their U.S. Congressional representatives.
Participants were selected from nearly 150 qualified applicants to attend this prestigious program.

Birdville Council of PTA Now Hiring an Executive Director of the Clothes Connection and Supply Depot Birdville Council of PTAs is hiring an employee to fill the position of Executive Director of the Clothes Connection and Supply Depot. The Clothes Connection and Supply Depot are programs sponsored by the Birdville Council of PTAs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provide clothes, shoes, and school supplies to underprivileged students and their families within the District.
