Time to Report Your Chapter's Graduates
Let us congratulate your chapter's graduates! Complete the graduating seniors form so that we can send them a small token of appreciation (provided we have a valid address on file for each member).

Report your Seniors here!

Please Report Past Due SYSD Projects
Although Spring Youth Service Day project reports were due May 3, the Fraternity is still accepting reports on www.apo.org.

Non-reporting puts your chapter's good standing at risk and may influence your chapter's voting at the 2010 National Convention in December.

Greetings!

The 2009-10 academic year has come to a close, and for some of you, so have your undergraduate years. Congratulations to those graduating this year and best of luck to those moving on to another chapter of their college years.

As summer approaches and seniors graduate, it is important that your chapter be sure to report its graduating seniors to the Fraternity on www.apo.org so the Fraternity can send a token of appreciation to those with updated addresses.

Enjoy your summer vacations and be sure to keep the editorial team up-to-date with your latest service activities. We love to hear stories of alternative summer service breaks, etc. Remember, this is the last Torch Topics issue until the start of the fall semester.

Good luck and we will talk to you in August!

May Video of the Month!

What a great service project promo video from Mu Chapter at Indiana University in Bloomington! The Rubber Duck Regatta is one of the chapter's biggest service projects. This year's event was a fundraiser to help save the summer programs at the Crestmont Boys and Girls Club.

Is your chapter working hard to promote, educate, entertain, recruit or retain through videos? Share your chapter's efforts with brothers across the nation by nominating your video for the August Video of the Month. Simply post your video on a video sharing site, then send a link to the Torch Topics Editorial Team at
publications@apo.org.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The National Office has been informed that almost a hundred active chapters have not yet filed the required IRS Form 990-N. As a reminder the IRS requires all subordinates with yearly revenues of less than $25,000 to file an online Form 990-N.

Your chapter is required to file the Form 990-N annually by the 15th day of 5th month after your recorded year end.If your chapter's year end is December 31, your 990-N is due May 15.

If the chapter fails to file the required form for three years, the IRS will declare the chapter inactive and remove the chapter from our active subordinate listing.

We verified the status of the unfiled Form 990N's  with the IRS and the National Center for Charitable Statistics.

Please go online to immediately file the Form 990-N.
