Adult Volunteers with Severe TS Needed for a Treatment Study
Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
for Tourette Syndrome

You are invited to participate in a randomized research study designed to look at whether repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can reduce the severity of tics in people with severe Tourette syndrome.

Participants will be randomized into the active treatment group or inactive treatment group (placebo).  Participants receiving inactive stimulation will be offered active stimulation after completing their placebo phase of the study.  The rTMS study uses a magnet that is placed on the scalp.  The magnet can send magnetic waves to different parts of the brain that may result in a reduction of your tics.  The rTMS treatments (both active and placebo) will take place at Yale University or Columbia University depending on your physical location.

We are currently looking for adults with severe TS to participate in these studies.  Compensation will be provided for participant's travel expenses.

Please contact us for further information if you are interested in participating in this study.
