Note to patients: Please contact us if you have not been seen for your prosthetic or orthotic check-up before the end of the year. It is important to be seen at least twice a year to assure that the prosthesis or orthosis is being maintained in order for you to reach your maximum performance. There is no charge for our follow-up appointments. Supplies and repairs are usually covered by your insurance.
Duel on the Diamond

 

On Dec. 16 and 17,veterans who lost limbs in Iraq or Afghanistan will compete in a tournament at South Beach's Flamingo Park with softball teams from police departments in Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah and Miami-Dade County, as well as the Miami Beach Fire Department.

 

Hosted by Miami Beach police, proceeds from the sale of $10 tickets - good for both days - will go to benefit the traveling team of veterans and the Miami Beach Police Athletic League.

 

"These guys are American heroes and they're astronomical to watch," said Miami Beach Detective Juan Sanchez, a department spokesman.

*  What: Softball tournament featuring the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team and South Florida firefighter and police teams

* When: Dec. 16 and 17

* Where: Flamingo Park, 1245 Michigan Ave., Miami Beach

*  How Much: $10 for a two-day wristband can be purchased at media relations offices for participating departments.
