Holiday Event Planning
|
Insight knows that during this time of the year we are not just counting calories, also the decreasing supply of dollar bills. Just because you would like your staff holiday party to be memorable does not mean it has to be large or expensive. With only a matter of days remaining in the year time is of the essence, so we went ahead and jotted down a couple of friendly reminders for you to ensure your holiday staff party goes off without a hitch.
Gift planning. Make sure employee gifts are relevant, cost effective and useful. Don't establish them based on status or hierarchy and remember that neither a bonus nor paid vacation acts as a substitute for a gift "from the heart." Particularly in the Gulf Coast area, the local economy has taken a hit this year, so why not take this opportunity to spend your money on gifts that put some revenue back into local businesses. Remember simplicity and originality go along way; avoid gift baskets or gifts that are both impersonal and overdone.
Appropriate atmosphere. Remember not everyone celebrates Christmas, prefers alcohol or eats all the food that you will provide. With that said, keep the options open. Depending on the locale of your party and if your business is small enough or your budget large enough, consider letting guests bring family. Family time is hard enough to come by these days especially if your organization has been particularly busy this year. Most importantly remember that the party should allow all involved an opportunity to come together and celebrate the hard work that has been input this year without making more hard work for you.
What is the Insight staff doing? We are certainly glad you asked. Since we have spent the year helping others plan we have decided to kick back and have a small gathering complete with festive beverages and snacks and enjoy putting our feet up at Sabrina's house. She is hosting a wine tasting and cooking up some of her grandmother's Southern specialties to pair with each of the selections.
Event planning 2011. In looking at the upcoming year, start planning ahead for your next event. You tell us what you want to do, and let us take care of the rest. From décor to locale, regardless of the occasion, our event planning services will have you covered. That way, you can be the one kicked-back with your feet up.
